Glary Utilities Not Working? — Easy Fixes for Windows

Quick Check Before You Dig In

1. Confirm you are on Windows 7–11 (no Mac/Linux build).
2. Check the installer signature: Glarysoft Ltd in Properties → Digital Signatures.
3. Update to the latest build — version 6.43.0.47 as of June 2026.
4. Run Glary Utilities as administrator once after install.

Glary Utilities Won't Install

1. Run as administrator — right-click the .exe → Run as administrator.
2. Pause antivirus — optimization tools often get blocked during install. Re-enable after setup and add an exception.
3. Fresh download — delete the old file and grab a new copy from our download page (~27 MB).
4. Disk space — need at least 100 MB free on the system drive.
5. Windows Update — install pending updates; missing runtime components can break setup.

Installer Blocked by Antivirus (PUP Warning)

Symptoms: Defender or third-party AV quarantines the file or labels it "potentially unwanted."

1. Check digital signature is Glarysoft Ltd — if missing, do not run the file.
2. Restore from quarantine only after signature checks out.
3. Add Glary Utilities to your AV exclusion list.

Glary Utilities Won't Start

Symptoms: Double-click does nothing, blank window, or instant close.

1. Run as administrator.
2. Open Task Manager — end any stuck Integrator.exe or Glary processes, then retry.
3. Repair or reinstall — uninstall, reboot, install fresh from download.
4. Install/update .NET Framework from Microsoft if prompted.

1-Click Maintenance Stuck at 0%

Symptoms: Scan never progresses, spinner runs forever.

1. Close browsers and heavy apps to free RAM.
2. Run individual modules (Disk Cleaner, Registry Cleaner) to find which one hangs.
3. Temporarily disable real-time antivirus scanning.
4. Run as administrator and retry.

Glary Utilities Crashes During Scan

Symptoms: Program closes mid-scan or shows "not responding."

1. Update to version 6.43.0.47 via Menu → Check for updates or manual download.
2. Scan one module at a time instead of 1-Click Maintenance.
3. Boot into Safe Mode and run a scan — if it works, a conflicting app is likely the cause.
4. Full reinstall after uninstall + reboot.

Update Fails or Won't Download

1. Check internet connection and disable VPN temporarily.
2. Allow Glary Utilities through Windows Firewall.
3. Skip in-app update — download the latest installer from our page and install over the existing version.

Registry Cleaner — Too Many Errors or Problems After Fix

1. Review the list before clicking Repair — do not fix everything blindly.
2. Skip Shared DLLs unless you know what you are doing.

Scan Finds Nothing / PC Still Slow

1. Run Startup Manager — boot clutter often matters more than temp files.
2. Run Disk Cleaner separately for deep temp-folder cleanup.
3. Check free disk space — below 10% full, Windows slows down regardless of cleanup.

Ads or Extra Offers in Free Version

The free build shows ads — that is normal, not a bug. Decline optional bundled software during install. Upgrade to Glary Utilities Pro to remove ads.

Pro License Won't Activate

1. Confirm purchase email and license key from Glarysoft.
2. Use Menu → Activate or Enter License inside the app.
3. Check firewall is not blocking activation servers.

Windows 11 Issues

1. Install the latest Glary build — older versions had Win11 UI glitches.
2. Run installer in compatibility mode (Windows 8) only if the latest build still fails.
3. Ensure SmartScreen allows the signed Glarysoft installer.

Can't Uninstall Completely

1. Settings → Apps → Glary Utilities → Uninstall.
2. Delete leftover folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Glary Utilities if it remains.
3. Reboot, then install fresh.
